LinkedIn has simplified its LinkedIn Live and LinkedIn Events features to benefit from the reach and engagement of a scheduled LinkedIn Live with the planning and targeting of LinkedIn Events. As of October 15, 2021, all new events created on LinkedIn are now fully public: Your event is now discoverable by search, and anyone, attendees and non-attendees, can view your content during and after the event. Any events you create will appear on the event and video sections of the profile or company page.
You can schedule a LinkedIn Live Event in Socialive as far in advance as needed. By scheduling a Live Event, you are:
Creating an automated public post on LinkedIn announcing your upcoming broadcast. This post will include an Attend button that your followers can click to guarantee they get a notification once the broadcast begins.
Creating an event in the Events section of your LinkedIn company page.
Creating a placeholder for the video in the Videos section of your LinkedIn company page.

This article will go over the following topics:
- Step 1: Scheduling a LinkedIn Live Broadcast
- Step 2: Starting Your Scheduled Live Broadcast
- Canceling Your Scheduled Live Broadcast
Prerequisites
To broadcast to a LinkedIn Event page, you need to be:
Be the LinkedIn Live Super Admin or a Content Admin of LinkedIn pages that are approved to live stream
Be a Socialive Administrator in your Socialive account
Have your LinkedIn company pages or profile connected to Socialive
Process
Step 1: Scheduling a LinkedIn Live Event
In Socialive, create a new broadcast or open an existing one.
On the right-side panel, under the Broadcast Live tab, click the LinkedIn logo.
In the pop-up that appears:
Toggle on a connected LinkedIn page or profile.
Under "Where to Post?", select Scheduled Broadcast.
Under "Select an upcoming broadcast," select Schedule a Broadcast.
Another pop-up will appear:
Enter the Broadcast Title. You can change this later on from the Event Page on LinkedIn.
Enter the post description for your Announcement Post. You can change this later on from the Event Page on LinkedIn.
Select the Date and Time of your scheduled broadcast. You can change this later on from the Event Page on LinkedIn.
Upload an image for your Announcement post. The recommended image ratio is 16:9. You can change this later on from the Event Page on LinkedIn.
Click Send Announcement to schedule your broadcast and post it on LinkedIn.
When you schedule the stream in advance, a public LinkedIn Live Event post will be generated on LinkedIn to announce your upcoming stream. This post will be visible on the feed of your LinkedIn Page or profile and when you start your stream, the post will automatically show your live video. Live Events that are in progress will also display in the header of your LinkedIn Page or profile.
On the scheduled Live Event post, LinkedIn members can click the Attend button to RSVP. Anyone who clicks Attend will receive reminder notifications seven days, three days, and fifteen minutes before the scheduled Live Event.
When you go live into the scheduled event, LinkedIn will send a notification to all of your registered attendees. Additionally, they will send a notification to a subset of the followers of your profile or Page, targeting the ones most likely to view your video based on a variety of factors.
Step 2: Starting Your Scheduled Live Event
You can go live any time from fifteen minutes before to two hours after your scheduled start time. If you don’t go live within this time period, the post will show that your stream is canceled.
Under "Select an upcoming broadcast," select the broadcast you previously scheduled.
Start your broadcast within the allowed timeframe.
At the scheduled time of the live broadcast, people who expressed interest via the initial announcement post will receive a notification directing them to the broadcast.
After the broadcast is complete:
The post will remain on your page or profile, but the live original announcement post will turn into a video post.
Any member can access the Live Event content on your LinkedIn Page or profile before, during, and after the Live Event, even if they were not an attendee.
Canceling Your Scheduled Live Event
To delete a scheduled live stream that does not have any attendees yet, you can simply delete the event.
To delete one that already has attendees, you will need to first, cancel the event on LinkedIn. Then, after your event has been canceled for seven or more days, you can delete it.
