Managing Socialive Spaces

Spaces allow Socialive admins to organize their account into multiple, independent areas for different projects or teams, restricting access to specific groups of users. This functionality enables admins to manage permissions and ensure that users can only access the information they need for their respective projects or roles.

In summary, Spaces allow Admins to restrict user access within a Space, ensuring that the right individuals can access what they need.

This article reviews the process for managing Spaces. To learn how to create a new Space, review Creating a New Socialive Space

Managing Spaces

  1. In the Socialive Portal, click Account Settings

  1. Click Spaces to show all of the Spaces within your account

  1. Select a Space to manage it.

  1. Each Space can be set to be open to all users in the account or restricted to a limited number of users.

The following reviews the details of each Space Management tab.

Managing Space Users

Here, you have two options available: Open and Restricted. Open will allow all users on the account to have access to the space. Spaces are open by default. Restricted spaces will only be accessible to Admins and to users in other roles who are explicitly added to the Space membership.

To limit space membership, select Restricted and add users. Admins will always have access to restricted spaces, but will need to add users in other roles to a space to grant them access to that space.

Guests invited or added to a Studio session will have access to the Green Room, regardless of space membership.

Managing Space Integrations

Spaces allow Socialive Admins to limit available Integrations for the Publish workflow per Space. Different Spaces can be configured to use different integration destinations or have all integrations turned off. A list of integrations is available for the selected Space, along with the options to enable all integrations or a Limited subset of integrations.

Choosing All allows all integrations configured on the account to be available in the Publish workflow. To limit the availability of integrations, select Limited and enable only the integrations you would like to have available for the Space.

All integrations that have been enabled at the account level are enabled in a Space by default. The Admin will need to disable integrations to restrict the availability of an integration within a Space.

Managing Space Distributions

Spaces allow Socialive Admins to limit available distribution channels for livestreaming per Space, if livestreaming is a feature of the account. Different Spaces can be configured to use different livestreaming distributions, or have all distributions turned off in order to use the Space only for recordings.

All distributions that have been enabled at the account level are enabled in a Space by default. The admin will need to disable distribution channels to restrict the availability of a distribution within a Space. Choosing All allows all distribution channels configured on the account to be available in Studio.

To limit the availability of select distribution channels, select Limited and enable only those distribution channels you would like available for the Space. The ability to livestream via the available livestreaming distributions in Studio within the Space is always limited to Producers and Admins. If all distributions are disabled in a Space, no one can livestream from Studio in that space.

Removing or Repurposing a Space

Spaces can only be deleted by submitting a ticket to the Support Team. However, Spaces can be repurposed by renaming and updating access rights.
