In Socialive Studio, you can share slides without sharing your screen. Upload the slides in PDF format, and they will appear in the Live Sources panel along with slides uploaded by guests in the Green Room. The slides will be added as images and will be available in any session you produce.
This article provides instructions on how to share slides in Studio.
Notes
- Since slides are added as images, there is no ISO recording of them saved in the Socialive Library.
- Slide shares do not count towards the limit of 20 video feeds (guests or screen share) in the Green Room, so you can have 20 video feeds in the Green Room and 20 slide shares. As always, we advise you to tech-check this scenario before the event day.
Process
Uploading Slides
- In Socialive Studio, under the Live Sources panel, click Manage Slides.
- In the pop-up that appears, click the Upload PDF button and select the slides file (max file size is 50 MB). The slides must be in PDF format to preserve the layout, fonts, shapes, images, and formatting. It may take a few minutes for the file to upload and process. You can upload multiple presentations and choose which one to add to the session.
- Once the file is uploaded and processed, click +Add. The slides will appear on the Live Sources panel, where you can then add them to scenes. Slides will always keep their original aspect ratio and will never be cropped, even when added to cropped layouts.
Navigating Slides
Click the arrows on the slides feed in the Live Sources panel to navigate between slides, or click the drop-down and select the page number to switch to that slide. Producers can also control guest-uploaded slides from Studio in the same way.
Renaming Slides
- Click Manage Slides.
- In the pop-up that appears, click the name of the file and type in the new name.
- Click anywhere in the pop-up to save your changes.
Removing Slides from Studio
By removing the slides from Studio, they will no longer be visible to guests in the Green Room, and will remove them from scenes where slides were added.
- Click Manage Slides.
- In the pop-up that appears, click the Add to button to remove the slides. The slides will disappear from Studio and will no longer be visible.
Deleting Slides
- Click Manage Slides.
- In the pop-up that appears, click Delete.
