Whether you are recording alone or with a Producer present, having a script available for reference can support quality recordings. The teleprompter prompts those recording content with a visual script showing content creators what they need to say, word for word. In Socialive, the teleprompter can be used for recording sessions within the Green Room and Recording Booth.
The teleprompter's functionality is the same whether you are recording in the Green Room or the Recording Booth. However, in the Green Room, the teleprompter can be managed by the producer running the session, which allows for a guided experience.
This article will present how to use the teleprompter and the available functionality.
Click the open teleprompter icon. The icon will include a notification if the teleprompter includes an existing script. This could be a prompt added by a Creator or Producer, or a script from a previous recording session.
Using Edit Mode, you can paste or type the script into the teleprompter pop-up; it’s recommended that you paste it.
Edit mode allows the following:
Bulleted Lists: Easily structure your talking points or script sections for smoother delivery and better readability.
Italics: Emphasize key words or phrases for more natural pacing and delivery.
Text Justification: Align your text left, right, center, or fully justified to suit your preferred reading style or screen setup.
Clear all: Quickly delete the current prompt or script.
Once the prompt has been added, click Done to close Edit Mode.
The teleprompter can be moved using the icon at the top of the teleprompter or resized using any corner.
The following is available within the teleprompter:
The size of the onscreen text can be updated using the size slider.
Depending on the talent's preference, content can be justified left, middle, or right.
The speed of playback can be updated using the playback slider.
The eyeline guide can be turned on to allow speakers to pace their teleprompter and set the pace of the recording.
Click play to start the teleprompter. Once play is selected, the pause icon is available to pause it.
To close the teleprompter, click X in the upper-right-hand corner.
Producer Controlled Teleprompter in the Green Room
With Remote Teleprompter Control, Producers can control guest teleprompters directly from the Socialive Studio. This allows Producers to manage, update, and synchronize real-time teleprompter scripts for guests, ensuring smoother, more guided recording sessions.
With Remote Teleprompter Control, Producers can:
Pre-populate teleprompters before a session begins, so guests have scripts ready when they join.
Edit or update scripts live during the session, making it easy to adjust messaging or timing without interrupting the flow.
Open or close the teleprompter and control playback to keep everyone aligned and on pace throughout the recording.
Create more efficient production workflows, consistent delivery, and a better on-camera experience for everyone involved.
