You can record in 1080p resolution with Socialive. This article provides instructions on how to change your session output resolution. You can select from the following options:
- Low Definition (360p)
- Standard Definition (540p)
- High Definition (720p)
- Full HD (1080p)
Note: The default resolution output is 720p. You will have to actively change your selection to 1080p for every session.
Process
In Socialive Studio, on the right-hand panel, under options, click on the second drop-down list and select one of the following options:
- Low Definition (360p)
- Standard Definition (540p)
- High Definition (720p)
- Full HD (1080p)
Recording in 1080p
There are a few things to know about recording in 1080p resolution:
- The recording of the session will be 1080p
- The guest's web ISOs are still captured at 720p (to optimize performance). However, the process of capturing Local Full HD ISOs (in the Green Room) remains the same.
- Pre-recorded videos can be 1080p
- If you have existing graphics for 720p sessions, you will need to update or recreate those graphics for 1080p to support the larger resolution. Check out the 1080p Layout Template Dimensions here.
Streaming to Third-Party Platforms in 1080p
LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Twitch support 1080p livestreams. However, there are limitations:
- Feeds sent via RTMP are subject to any limitations on the player you deliver content.
- If you send a 1080p feed to a player that doesn't support 1080p, you will NOT get an error message in Socialive.
